When you’re trying to figure out what jobs will be assigned and what duties will be everyday responsibilities, it’s important to think about the difference between the two. Let’s Settle the Allowance Debate Once and For All
Allowance has been a topic of debate for years. Some parents feel that by giving a child money for their work, they will learn to value things. However, the concept of working hard isn’t always about the reward. It’s imperative to make sure you’re teaching your child the valuable lesson of working hard.
If you are a parent who feels obligated to pay your child for doing his/her chores, you might want to reconsider your actions. Your child has to learn that not everything we do comes with a reward and that our motivation for doing things should originate from a deeper place.
The Difference between Responsibilities and Jobs
When discussing the difference between responsibilities and jobs for kids, it is defined rather differently than the adult world.
You see, parents set a list of specific responsibilities for kids that are expectations regardless of anything else. Responsibilities for kids could include being a good human being, cleaning up after themselves and just doing the everyday tasks that a human being should be responsible for, such as good hygiene.
Most parents would define a job for kids as something like cleaning the toilet or mowing the lawn. A job is something that goes up and beyond your everyday responsibilities.
